Looking for CellPhones?

LG Arena KM900

Straight off the mobile phone blocks, the LG KM900 Arena flatters most sincerely. Going by the design elements, LG Arena is modest enough to follow the current industry standard — full-frontal touch screen - that seems to be everywhere throughout the phone fascia, no visible keypads teamed up with the 3D user interface. Sharing its looks more or less with the iPhones, complete touch screen with minimal buttons — no more surprises out there — the only difference is the phone size. Arena is only a little smaller than its already marketed iPhones counterparts. Arena phone specs read well — 5 mega pixel auto focus camera, 3G ready, 3.2-inch frontal touch screen, 3.5mm jack, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 8GB built-in memory and an SDHC-compatible micro SD card slot, all draped in a slick yet brawny and premium-looking brushed metal case. With Arena in your hands, you can pledge of never being away from the ever expanding family of the World Wide Web. The phone supports several browsing technologies inclusive ofHTML, XHTML and WAP. Files and data can be swapped across in high speeds and all our thanks to KM900’s wide range of technologies - Wi Fi, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth and 3G HSDPA.

The known  LG Arena KM900 specs include:

* Tri-band GSM/UMTS/HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity
* 3″ 800 x 480 WVGA 262K color touchscreen display
* 5 megapixel camera with DVD quality video recording
* FM Radio
* Mobile TV
* A-GPS support
* 1000 mAh battery with 300 hrs stand-by and 230 min talk time
* Wi-Fi
* “S-Class” 3D interface

105.9mm tall, 55.3mm wide and 11.95mm thick, the 105g weighing phone feels amazingly light in hand, sans any negotiation being entered into in terms of the phone’s manufacturing quality. But quite unfortunately, this doesn’t really do the “Arena” any kind of favors, and out of the odds, the lightness makes the phone feel a tad like an economical model than it really is. Roll your fingers along the side isles of Arena; side-mounted buttons are almost non-existent except the camera keys and the volume rocker buttons on the right side, along with the weenie top-mounted on/off switch. The phone’s main power connector is being safely protected by a sliding cover, which as per my opinion is certainly a good concept as it guards the power connector well, and keeps dust and grime at bay, when the phone is not put to charging. Even better is the 3.5mm headset connector socket on the top edge. The mercury-grey titanium back cover and side plates are certainly attention grabbing teamed up with the silver outer frame and black inner frame adorning the facade. The well-toned and intensified glass covering over the screen definitely tags on to the phone’s resilience but, the minus point being, the screen very easily grabs greasy finger marks.

Sony Ericsson T707a

Sony just announced their new cellphone Sony Ericsson T707a, which is a very eyeball-drawing cellphone in 2009, now more and more people begin to talk about it. So here we are going to discuss Sony Ericsson T707a, and see how wonderful it is.

The most cool thing about Sony Ericsson T707a is it has a stylish clamshell with light effects that glow when calls are received and gesture control to end calls and snooze the alarm. This is the most important reason people love it like crazy.

Sony Ericsson T707 will offer three color variants (Mystic Black, Spring Pink, Bright Blue). It also has a 2.2-inch main TFT display with QVGA resolution and a monochrome OLED additional one. The device also has a 3.2MP camera (capable of photo and video blogging), along with an FM radio with RDS. This is very good for those who are interested in multimedia.

What’s better, photos taken with its 3.2-megapixel camera can be uploaded to social networking sites using the HTML web browser. So you can upload your cool photos to your web blog any time you want.

Sony Ericsson T707a has these cool features:

* Give best friends their own, unique pulsating light effects and when a call from one of them comes in, users will know who it is in a flash
* Gesture Control lets users mute an incoming call or snooze the alarm by simply sweeping a hand over the phone
* Capture life as it happens with the 3.2-megapixel camera
* Share photos with friends or post pictures on a blog with just a few clicks
* The Day and Night theme makes the desktop and menus in the phone change as day turns to night

We have to wait some time, because The Sony Ericsson T707a will be available in the second quarter. Since there are so many people crazy about it, I think they should allow pre-order, but I haven’t known that. Hope they will do that.

This is great, but what’s not so great is that some applications are slow to start up the first time, and the phone itself takes an age to switch on. If you are the kind of person who likes to turn their mobile off overnight to save battery power, the long morning startup could irritate.

Now, what about the camera? You can get more detail by checking out our separate W960i camera review for the full gen, but suffice it to say here that the camera is adequate, if not hugely capable. The 3.2-megapixel lens is a fair way behind the top end these days, but there is autofocus and a macro mode, while a reasonably good double-strength photo light helps things along.

Motorola ZINE ZN5

The ZN5 is on the High-End segment of Motorola’s portfolio, the device offers a 5 Megapixel Camera with Kodak Technology, Auto-Focus and Xenon Flash. The device itself is advertised as a Kodak Camera combined with a High-Quality phone. With the Kodak branding all over the ZN5, it is obvious that Motorola wants to advertise its phone as ”A Kodak Camera”, in my opinion this strategy gives positive results.  To prove it, I took a N95 8GB and the ZN5 and showed it to 15 people, I did not give information about the phones, just handed them so they explore them and play for a while.  The results were as expected, the well-known Kodak branding stole the attention from the N95 8GB.

FEATURES
CAMERA

Display: 2.4” 240×320 262k TFT
Memory: 350MB available memory4, optional removable 4GB memory card
Imaging:

* KODAK 5-megapixel Camera, auto-focus, low light optimized with Xenon flash
* Multi-shot mode
* Capture and edit modes: panorama, grayscale, sepia, negative, reddish, greenish, blueish
* Focal length: 5.86mm. Aperture: 2.8/5.6.
* Digital viewfinder

PHONE

Dimensions: 50.5mm (W) x 118mm (L) x 12mm (T) (16mm at bump)
Talk Time: up to 349 to 574 minutes5
Standby Time: up to 310 to 579 hours5
Weight: 114g
Battery: 950 mAh
Bands/Modes: GSM 850/900/1800/1900, EDGE Class 12, GPRS Class 12
Phone Features:

* Sliding the lens cover open transforms the device from phone to camera using
ModeShift technology
* CrystalTalkTM technology for clear-sounding calls
* SMS, MMS, IM, personal e-mail1
* Full HTML open source browser
* 3.5mm A/V jack, FM radio6,7, music player
* Wi-Fi1 enabled/ WLAN: 802.11 b/g/i
* Optional external memory supports up to 4GB capacity
* Microsoft® Windows Media® Player 11 support
* Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology (A2DP)2
* Video –C/P 15fps, MPEG4, H263
* TV out3

ZN5 puts image capture first, with a high-resolution landscape screen and one of the fastest click-to-click times available. To launch the camera, simply slide open the Kodak lens cover to transform the phone into an ultra-fast 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, a Xenon flash, 4GB of optional external memory3 and optimized settings for low-light environments.

The MotoZN5 is a light phone, it is also very slim but with a thicker upper part where the 5 Megapixel camera is located. It uses a Violet color scheme mixed with Violet-Metal-dark colors which in my opinion make the phone look actual and modern. The device is a blend of rubber parts with metal parts.

The keypad of the ZN5 is very special, it is all covered by a flexible piece of plastic. The keypad has multiple functions, right after taking a picture all the numbers disappear and a trash icon, a ‘’share” icon and a gallery icon appear.  The ergonomics of the device are standard, keys are comfortable enough and give a good feedback.

Palm Treo 750

Palm Treo 750 is an amalgam of power and performance. Contacts can be looked up or dialed up instantaneously from the ‘Today screen” by entering the first few letters of the name or the phone number and pressing enter. You take advantage of the speed-dialing feature by tapping the photo or assigning a number to your contact to dial. You also have the facility to assign specific ring tones to contacts so that you always know who is calling you by just listening to the ring tone! You can download ringtones or record your voice to use as a ringtone.

It is possible to simultaneously send a message or email by putting the active call on hold. If another call is coming in, the first call can be placed on hold and muted, while the second call is attended to or the calls can be converted to a conference call. You can maintain contact and speak to your friends while driving or traveling with the hands free facility that allows you use the Voice command to dial and the stereo headset and speakerphone to hear and converse. You could add the wireless headset as an accessory to enhance your hands free experience.

That is not to take away from Palm though. The Treo 750 is a remarkable device and finally brings to U.S. GSM customers the Palm and Windows Mobile experience that Verizon and Sprint users have had for the past year. The slimmer profile and Exchange integration can make this easily a replacement for many BlackBerry outfits, and it is still stylish enough to not be a complete party pooper if you pull it out with your friends to shoot off a text message. It’s a business device that can play after hours.This is about Php 34,900, more or less with add-ons and other gadgets that comes withthe package of this mobile.
