Globe Strikes First On The iPhone

An interesting update on the Inquirer website:

Globe Telecom will be among the first telecom operators in Asia to officially carry Apple’s popular iPhone handset.

A two-paragraph statement on Globe’s website said the mobile communications firm had signed an agreement with Apple along with Singapore’s Singtel, India’s Bharti Airtel and Australia’s Optus.

So looks like Globe’s going to be first.  How will Smart Philippines React?

Nokia 6500 Reviews

From Technograph:

So, is the Nokia 6500 Slide worth its Standard Retail Price of P14,620? Well, if you must have TV out, then this phone is much more affordable than the N82. If not, there are other phones (like the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Phone) which provide nearly the same functionality, for a lower price.

From Cellphone9:

The 6500 slide is rather handy and thin. It’s comparatively a slightly edgier version of the classic slider phones of Nokia, maybe because of the aluminum finish. It comes with the usual bravado - 1GB of internal memory, Bluetooth, 3G and music player. overall a good phone as it is both practical and elegant, and I must add an updated slider model for Nokia.

Downsides? A little UI lag here and there.

So, to buy or not to buy? Me, hmm, I think not.

Most Pinoys Use Nokia. Surprised?

Results of Abe’s survey on Cell phone use:

Nokia is not surprising. I’m more surprised that the Sony-Ericsson models have taken such a huge usage surge. A long time ago, I would’ve seen Motorola on 2nd spot.

Abe’s N81 8GB Review

I saw Abe’s last review on the Nokia N81:

Sure, this model was made specifically for gaming and multi-media so I shouldn’t be asking more than that — but still, I find the unit a little lacking.

Frankly, if not for those great Bose headphones, I wouldn’t be playing my music off of this phone. Nokia needs to try a little harder on this model.

How’s your experience with this phone so far?
