Some companies are offering to rent out cellphones. For a Motorola V600, the going rate is $89.95 for three weeks. For this price, one could buy a pretty decent low-end phone from any of the Philippine Malls (sim-card included). For instance, in Market-Market, a mall just within Fort Bonifacio Global City, a refurbished Sony Ericsson Z200 can be purchased for around P4,000 (Around US$80).

The new Nokia e61 is out and is said to directly compete with the BlackBerry. It actually looks like a Treo, with it’s built-in keyboard. It is maximized for mobile e-mail. The current Philippine Pricing is at around P46,000.
